Health and Lifesytle

Medical Benefits

Medical insurance represents the largest component of our benefits plan. We will provide our employees with three medical plan choices. While all of the plans cover the same types of services, each provides coverage at a different level and requires you to contribute a different amount per pay period toward the premium.

Dental Benefits

Good dental health is important to your overall well being. At the same time, we all need different levels of dental treatment. It is for this reason that we offer such a comprehensive dental plan.

Vision Benefits

A voluntary vision benefit provided through one of the nation's largest providers of eye care coverage can be elected to cover yourself and your eligible family members. The plan provides affordable, comprehensive vision care coverage.

Flexible Spending Accounts

DRS gives you the option to redirect a portion of your pay through payroll deduction into Flexible Spending Accounts. These accounts provide you with the ability to set aside money on a pre-tax basis for any IRS-allowed health expenses not covered by your health care coverage or for day care expenses for your child, disabled parent, or spouse that enables you and your spouse to work.

Qualified Transportation Plan

This benefit allows you to pay for part or all of your qualifying work-related transportation costs on a pre-tax basis, including transit passes, qualified parking, or commuter highway vehicle transportation.

Employee Assistance Program

This program is administered by an independent professional counseling and training organization. They recognize and support the realities of daily life. Individual and family-focused benefits and support services are offered through this program.

Retirement/Savings Plan

401(k) Benefit

The DRS Retirement/Savings Plan provides a way for you to use pre-tax money to save for your retirement while receiving matching funds from DRS. With this qualified 401(k) plan, you may contribute a percentage of your eligible pay on a pre-tax basis, up to the annual IRS dollar limit, with immediate vesting. DRS makes a discretionary pre-tax matching contribution, which is vested based on years of service with the Company. The DRS Retirement/Savings Plan offers an array of investment choices and provides significant tax benefits to participants.

Income protection insurance is an important part of your financial security, especially if others depend on you for support. That's why DRS provides all eligible employees with Company-Paid Disability Insurance, Life Insurance, as well as Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance.

Income Protection

Short-Term Disability Insurance

Following a waiting period, provides income protection insurance to replace a percentage of your base weekly earnings, for a maximum period, when you become totally disabled due to a nonoccupational accident, illness, or disease.

Long-Term Disability Insurance

Following a waiting period, provides income protection to replace a percentage of your base monthly earnings when you become totally disabled. Long-Term Disability is coordinated with other income benefits.

Life & Accidental Death and Dismemberment Benefits

DRS provides group term life insurance payable to the employee's designated beneficiary in the event of an employee's death at no cost to you. An equal amount of Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance is provided to you at no cost also.

Paid Leave

Paid Time Off Plan

DRS strives to accommodate the diverse lifestyles and changing needs of employees. Our Paid Time Off Plan contributes to this effort by providing more benefit options and flexibility. The plan is a single all-purpose leave package designed to accomodate employee absences due to vacation illness, injury or personal business.

Alternative Work Schedule

We operate on a 9/80-work schedule; employees work 80 hrs in 9 days and have every other Friday off. 

Holidays

10 holidays per year, with six fixed holidays and four floating holidays assigned by the company. The four floating holidays are generally designated between Christmas Day and New Years Day.

Bereavement Leave

Up to 3 days leave with pay when a death occurs in the immediate family.

Military Reserve Leave

Members of the Armed Forces Reserve Units or National Guard will be paid the difference between their regular pay and their reserve pay for up to 10 days of annual training.

Jury Duty

The employee will receive their regular base pay during a period of jury duty.
