With the introduction of the Sunrise architecture, which created a tight integration between receiver and general-purpose, high-speed, digital signal processing (DSP) platforms, DRS-SS offered the first completely autonomous, general purpose surveillance receiver, with the additional capabilities of a digital receiver platform which enabled multiple users to create and download mission-specific DSP algorithms. Sunrise products are capable of being dynamically reconfigured in the field to intercept, analyze, demodulate and/or decode many types of signals. DRS latest generation DF and signal acquisition systems are constructed using open architecture methodologies relying heavily on latest technology COTS products. Using these open architecture approaches, systems can readily take advantage of the rapidly moving COTS technology marketplace. DRS has generated signal output report formats that allow direct interfacing with customer knowledge databases. In particular, DRS has provided this capability in its cellular intercept equipment and its HF/DF systems. |
